One thing this Summer has taught me is to find new, safe ways to adventure with my family. Honestly, we’ve spent more time unplugged and off the grid than ever before, and I’m not going to lie, it has been AH-mazing!
One of my family's favorite places to visit is Moxie Falls up in The Forks. The short hike is perfect for little legs, and the views are incredible. Another added bonus, the hiking trail is dog friendly and has the perfect spot for pups (or humans) to dip into the water for a refreshing cool-off.
My husband and I used to make a day trip at least once, if not two or three times a year (Fall is the best time to visit). But with Pet Expos, softball games, hay down, whatever! We watched two Summers slip by without a single visit. This Summer we quickly found ourselves with a lot more time on our hands and made the trek back. Not only that, but we spent a night tenting off of the Capital Road in West Forks.
Tenting with a dog, two littles, and a husband! Am I crazy? Maybe, but just a little bit. With the right gear, we were perfectly equipped! My favorite, don’t-leave-home-without-it, adventure gear:
Flick The Tick (Made in Maine and great to use for us humans too!)
What’s next on our Adventure list? We’re headed to East Grand Lake for a fun-filled week of camping!
